ACADEMIC INFORMATION

Global Bible Institute offers the
following degree programs through
ADMISSIONS Before being considered for admission the applicant must meet the following requirements: 1. Possess a high school diploma (or equivalent) or be at least 18 years of age. Any exceptions must be approved by the registrar's office before final admission to Global Bible Institute. 2. Must have had a born again experience at least six months prior to application. 3. Must be attending regular services in a local church or ministry. 4. Should be free from outstanding indebtedness to a degree which will enable the student to make a complete commitment to the training program. 5. The completion and submission of a Student Application/Pre-assessment Form (including photo), the student's Confidential Questionnaire, with accompanying application fee to Admissions, Global Bible Institute, P.O. Box 1019, Orland, CA 95963. (Please attach transcripts if seeking to transfer credits.) 6. Completion of the Pastor's Recommendation form to be filled out and sent by the applicant's own local pastor. Formal application for admission must be made on the standard forms supplied by Global Bible Institute. The Student Application/Pre-assessment Form must be completed in a diligent manner. All transcripts and records attached to the application form must be clear and labeled properly. WITHDRAWAL AND DISMISSAL If any student finds it necessary to withdraw from Global Bible Institute, he must notify the Registrar in writing. All students are expected to uphold the high spiritual and moral standards outlined under the General Guidelines sections of this catalog. NON-DISCRIMINATION STATEMENT Global Bible Institute admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its policies. ACADEMIC PROBATION AND/OR REPETITION OF COURSE WORK In order to fulfill its responsibility of providing quality higher education, Global Bible Institute must require reasonable academic progress from the students. The following academic probation and repetition of course work policy will be followed: Any student who fails to maintain at least a "C" average during any single semester may be placed on academic probation for the next semester in which he is enrolled. Failure to maintain a least a passing grade will result in the repetition of failed classes. COMPLETION TIME Associate of Theology in Biblical Studies ................................... 2 years Bachelor of Theology in Biblical Studies .................................... 3 years Master of Theology in Biblical Studies ....................................... 4 years Doctor of Theology in Biblical Studies ....................................... 5 years The normal completion time will vary according to previous course work, life experience and individual situations.
GRADING SYSTEM All academic work completed at Global Bible Institute is graded using letters. These letters may be interpreted as follows:
B 80-89 C 70-79 D 60-69 P Pass I Incomplete Final student evaluations will be based on grades, effort and attitude in all classes. STUDENT HONORS Students who have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better and have met requirements for graduation will receive their degree with honors. PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE Global Bible Institute does not provide placement assistance to students or graduates. RECORDS Global Bible Institute maintains hard paper copies of student applications and transcripts for a period of five years after the student's last semester. The student may obtain copies of these records from the Registrar for a nominal fee. Please send requests to: Global Bible Institute, P.O. Box 1019, Orland, CA 95963. LEARNING RESOURCES It is suggested that each student begin to accumulate his own resource library. The materials used during the student's educational process will be a good beginning toward this goal. We encourage the students to use outside libraries and learning resource centers. Also, there are many excellent Bible study computer programs available. |
