DOCTRINAL STATEMENT
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative
Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in
three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus
Christ, in His virgin birth, in His
sinless life, in His miracles, in His
vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men,
regeneration of the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary.
We believe in the present, active ministry of the
Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to
live a godly life.
We believe in the second coming of Christ and that His coming
includes the rapture of the Saints, which is
our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of
Christ with His Saints to reign on earth for one thousand years.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost;
they who are saved unto the resurrection of life and they who
are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe that heaven and hell are definite places.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers of
our Lord Jesus Christ.

GENERAL INFORMATION
PHILOSOPHY AND GOALS
The vision and goal of Global Bible Institute is to prepare men and women,
in order that they may be better equipped to fulfill the commission of Jesus Christ
by going and proclaiming the gospel to all nations. The Church is also given the
continuing responsibility of discipling all who respond to the gospel,
teaching them to be obedient to the Word of God. Global Bible Institute's
practices and methods of training transcend denominational boundaries. All
students who are committed to reaching
the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ will receive a
greater knowledge of the Word of God, as well as guidance in practical aspects
of ministry, thus enabling them
to better accomplish that task.
Secondary goals are as follows:
1. Training: To prepare our students for positions of
Christian service and leadership which may
include work as pastors, missionaries, Bible school teachers,
evangelists and Christian workers.
2. Academic Proficiency: To encourage a high standard
of academic proficiency emphasizing intensive study of the Word
of God and the development of oral and written communication
skills, while allowing students latitude for
personal creativity in the development of his or her individual Christian
philosophy.
3. Research: To encourage students to
engage in special biblical research and
publish those works which may benefit the Church as a whole.
4. Personal Development: To cultivate the growth of
spiritual maturity and responsibility in each student.
Each student should learn to pray and study the Bible, worship
God with his whole being, and live in
Christian victory while overcoming life's trials.
5. Local Community Interest: To instill within each student
the responsibility for reaching the lost of his
local community through evangelism and discipleship
programs which are channeled through the local church.
HISTORY
The vision of Global Youth Evangelism and its associated ministries had its
origin in the late 1950s in a small mountain house
church near Los Gatos, California. In a miraculous
move of God, the Holy Spirit began to touch and call men and
women to a renewed commitment to experience the reality of the
presence of the living God. In 1961, after construction of new facilities, the vision of world evangelism
began to unfold. Following the scriptural pattern (Acts 1:8), the church body
began to reach out to the local and nearby communities through a weekly radio broadcast and through
"Released Time Evangelism" in the public schools. As young
people responded to the move of God, the church helped sponsor
"Youth Invasions" throughout Northern California. Before long the missionary vision began to become more
established and members of the congregation became involved in an
outreach to Mexican immigrant workers, and in order to increase the effectiveness of the ministry by
transcending denominational boundaries, Global Youth Evangelism was incorporated
June 1, 1965. Then in the late sixties after a time of reduced activity, the
Holy Spirit began to direct the development of an
international ministry through the establishment of missionary training centers
at Los Gatos, California and Guadalajara, Mexico.
From those early days to the present, the vision of discipling
Christian workers has continued to develop through various steps and
phases. One of the salient results of this process has been
the development of a curriculum called the Christian Worker Bible Study
Series. These studies continue to be used by
thousands of pastors, teachers, prison ministries,
missionaries and national workers. Multitudes of Christian workers worldwide have been trained and blessed
by the
Christian Worker Bible Study Series.
Global Bible Institute was established 1995 in response to the desire and need of many who want to be part of a formal
educational process. Our distance training program has been
established to enable students of the word of God to receive proper recognition
through the awarding of degrees in theology. This training program is of
enhanced value because it allows the student to receive direct practical
ministry mentoring by his or her own pastor or supervisor.
FACILITIES
The campus of Global Bible Institute consists of a chapel with seating
capacity of 200, a 3,500 square feet classroom annex, and a 5,000
square feet Christian Worker Program publishing and educational facility.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
The desire to study the word of God in order to better
prepare one's self for Christian service is a high
calling, and every effort should be made to bring honor and glory to the name
of Christ. The student of the word of God should desire to
grow and expand in every area of his life so that God
will be glorified in his life and in his Christian service. First and foremost,
he should grow spiritually in knowledge of the Word of God and in
the Holy Spirit. He should also grow intellectually so that he is able to serve
in various capacities. The following guidelines are to help the
student establish a foundation upon which to build his Christian life and
character.
In order to maintain an honorable Christian testimony, the following
practices should be followed:
1. Faithfulness in personal prayer and study of the Word.
2. Faithfulness in church attendance.
3. Faithfulness in completing all homework, projects and
assignments in a timely and presentable manner.
4. Manifesting a Christian spirit to help when and where needed.
5. Abstinence from evil and the appearance thereof.
a. Not partaking of drugs (except for medical purposes),
tobacco, or alcohol.
b. Not frequenting places that would bring reproach to
or compromise your testimony before others.
6. Wear clothing that is always modest and appropriate for the occasion.
7. Maintaining a good testimony before those who are outside the
Christian family.
a. Securing and maintaining employment which is
sufficient to support the student and his family.
b. Maintaining a good report from employer and fellow workers.
c. Being current on payment of debts and bills and not being over
extended financially.
